Seren

Seren is a Welsh unisex name meaning "star", made up of Welsh sêr (stars; asterisks) combined with the suffix -en; sêrderives from Proto-Brythonic*ster (stars) < Proto-Celtic*sterā (star) < PIE *h₂stḗr (star).

Seren is also a Turkish female name but I couldn't find a reliable source for the name's etymology. It may have been borrowed from the Latin word serenus meaning "calm, peaceful, tranquil".

Seren is also a Polish male name, the Polish form of Serenus meaning "clear, tranquil, serene", originally used  to refer to clear, calm weather, and, figuratively, “cheerful, glad, joyous”. Though the origin of the word is uncertain it has been linked to PIE root word *ksero- (dry).

Seren is also a surname

Origin: Proto-Indo-European; uncertain

Meaning: a Welsh unisex name "star"; a Turkish female name, possibly "calm, peaceful, tranquil"; a Polish male name "clear, tranquil, serene"

Usage: Welsh, English, Turkish, Polish
